Not only did hurricane Irene cause heartbreaking damage to the homes of my friends and neighbors, but it also delayed my travel plan by a week. So for the past seven days I have anxiously awaiting my departure from Newark New Jersey to Rome and finally to Florence Italy. Today is the Day!!
